About this postcard

A circular vignette of a house with a white picket fence and trees sits at the center of this Thanksgiving greeting, framed by branches of red, orange, and green autumn leaves. The printed verse reads, "Thankful to be needed / Thankful to be here / Many be your reasons for thankfulness this year." The dark background sets off the house and fence, giving the scene a quiet, idealized domestic feel. Thanksgiving greetings of the late 1920s often paired a short verse with home-centered imagery, and this one carries a family holiday wish signed Marge.
