About this postcard
A birthday greeting card printed with the words "A Happy Birthday." in gold and purple lettering, accompanied by a spray of blue forget-me-nots and a diamond-shaped vignette of a stone cottage beside water with a figure standing in a small boat. The forget-me-not spray hangs from a thin gold cord, and the whole design sits within a deeply embossed, gold-trimmed border. Such embossed floral greeting cards were a staple of the early twentieth-century postcard boom, when birthday and holiday greetings outsold view cards in many markets.
