When clouds envelope the valleys the mountain sides are heavily hung in misty draperies, or have stretched across their length an interminable web of fog. Swayed by changing air currents, this cloud veil encloses and obscures the peaks, to be again rent asunder, exposing grim-headed peaks and pinnacles sharp as spears.
