About this postcard

The two-story Greek Revival frame house at Eighth and Jackson Streets in Springfield, Illinois, shown behind its white picket fence, with an American flag flying from a pole in the yard. The Lincoln family lived here from 1844 until they left for Washington in February 1861; it is the only home Abraham Lincoln ever owned. The house was later preserved as a memorial and is now the centerpiece of the Lincoln Home National Historic Site.
