About this postcard

The seated Abraham Lincoln statue by Daniel Chester French fills the frame inside the Lincoln Memorial. Lincoln rests with his hands on the chair arms, one hand atop the fasces bundle, against the dark stone of the chamber. The printed caption calls it the "World famous statue of ABRAHAM LINCOLN by Daniel Chester French." The memorial, a Greek Doric temple on the National Mall, was dedicated in 1922; French's larger-than-life figure is its focal point.
