About this postcard

An aerial view looks north along the crest of the Cascade Range, from Oregon's Three Sisters toward Mount Rainier on the far horizon. Snow-dusted volcanic peaks and forested ridges fill the distance, with Mount Washington, Three-Fingered Jack, Mount Hood, Mount Adams, and Mount St. Helens named in the caption between the viewpoint and Rainier, about 190 miles away. The caption calls the peaks "prehistoric volcanoes," referring to the volcanic origins of the Cascade arc. The view shows the chain as a connected field of high summits rather than isolated mountains.
