About this postcard
A halftone aerial photograph looks down on the compact campus of John Brown University, with a cluster of flat-roofed buildings, a water tower and open lawns set among wooded hills and farmland. The card's own caption names the scene as the John Brown University campus in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The school was founded in 1919 by evangelist John E. Brown as a Christian, interdenominational college in the Ozarks of northwest Arkansas, and the low, spread-out buildings shown here reflect its mid-twentieth-century growth.
