About this postcard
The card shows an aerial view over San Francisco Bay, with a twin-engine airliner in the foreground, Treasure Island at center-left, the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge stretching across the water, and the San Francisco waterfront below; Oakland and Berkeley lie in the distant hills. The printed caption names it “Air Liner over San Francisco, Treasure Island, Bay Bridge, Oakland and Berkeley in Distance.” Treasure Island was built for the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition, and the Bay Bridge had opened in 1936, dating this linen-era view to the late 1930s or early 1940s.
