About this postcard
An elevated view looks down on the great limestone arch of Natural Bridge, with a road and footpath passing beneath its span, while the long red-roofed Natural Bridge Hotel and its landscaped grounds sit on the wooded hillside above. Natural Bridge is a 215-foot-high natural arch carved from limestone by Cedar Creek in Rockbridge County, Virginia, long counted among the state's scenic wonders and once owned by Thomas Jefferson. The large hotel seen here served generations of travelers visiting the formation before it became a Virginia state park in 2016.
