About this postcard

An aerial ("airplane view") looking down over the clustered office blocks of Kansas City's financial district, with tall early-20th-century commercial buildings, flat roofs, a rooftop water tank and a red-brick block standing out among the lighter stone facades. Kansas City's downtown boomed in the 1920s and early 1930s, when much of this office and banking core was rebuilt in the Art Deco and Beaux-Arts styles seen here. The card's own caption names the scene as the Financial District of Kansas City, Missouri.
