An airplane view looks down on the small central Florida town of Winter Haven, its grid of streets and low buildings set among dense green groves, with several large, irregular lakes ringed by woods spread across the background. The card's own caption names it as an airplane view of Winter Haven, Fla. and some of the numerous lakes. Winter Haven, in Polk County, grew up among a chain of more than fifty named lakes and became a citrus-growing and resort center; the surrounding groves visible here reflect that industry.

Feb. 18. Here we are at Clearwater on the
west coast. Got our valentine mail which
was forwarded from Miami were ever so
glad to get it. Are staying here this week would
sooner spend the time over on the east
coast. Will leave again for the east coast next
week on our way home. The citrus orchards
are sure wonderful some trees still loaded
with fruit and full of buds again ready to
open. Lake Wales and Winter Haven are
right in the biggest citrus district. Gibsons want
ed to visit them once more before we go
home. Also John Wendt from Boltonville wants
to show us a celery[?] machine harvester
that employs 65 men does every thing, one operation.
