About this postcard

The photograph shows the altar and reredos of the Old San Miguel Church in Santa Fe, with wooden pews and an altar rail in the foreground. The church, now often called San Miguel Chapel, is traditionally dated to the early 1600s and is widely described as the oldest church in the United States. The interior is noted for Spanish woodwork and carving, a Mexican painting said to be more than 300 years old, Italian and Spanish oil paintings, and the church's old bell.
