About this postcard
A color-tinted view of Niagara Falls, with the broad American Falls sweeping across the left and center of the frame, the small Bridal Veil Falls at right, and the mist-shrouded Canadian Horseshoe Falls in the distance beyond Goat Island's wooded bank. The Niagara River churns green and white in the foreground below the cataract. Niagara Falls, on the border of New York and Ontario, was among the most heavily published scenic subjects of the early postcard era, and this view follows the classic Prospect Point vantage that tourists have used since the nineteenth century.
