About this postcard

A view of the American Falls at Niagara, seen from Goat Island, with the cataract's white curtain of water plunging into the gorge and a steel arch bridge spanning the river at the right. Goat Island, long a favored vantage point for visitors, divides the American Falls from the Horseshoe Falls, and the lattice bridge shown here carried road traffic between the New York and Ontario shores in the early 20th century. The card was issued by the Buffalo News Company, a Buffalo firm that produced view cards of the Niagara region.
