The American Waltham Watch Company works fills the far bank of a broad river, a brick complex with a central tower and a tall smokestack reflected in the still water. Trees and a grassy bank frame the lower edge. The company was a major watch manufacturer, and its Waltham factory was a landmark of the town's industrial life in the early 20th century.
