About this postcard

A group of large-winged angels gathers around the infant Jesus, who lies on straw in a burst of radiant light. Their bowed heads and framing wings focus the scene on the child, a devotional composition suited to a Christmas card. The card carries the Czech greeting "Radostné vánoce" and was sent to a Czech-speaking household in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1930, when the city had a large Czech immigrant community.
