About this postcard
Sepia photograph of the Angelus Temple, the great domed auditorium of Aimee Semple McPherson's International Church of the Foursquare Gospel in the Echo Park district of Los Angeles. Signs on the facade read "ANGELUS TEMPLE" and "AIMEE SEMPLE McPHERSON," while a large board advertises a "CONTINUOUS REVIVAL" with Sunday illustrated sermons, a "Land of the Midnight Sun" program, and Saturday divine healing, and a banner at left announces a "SECOND COMING RALLY." The temple, seating roughly 5,300 people, was dedicated in 1923 and became the center of McPherson's hugely popular radio and revival ministry; power transmission towers and streetcar wires frame the view.
