About this postcard

Anna Renfield Hall, a long brick residence building with vertical bands of windows, stands on a grassy bank above a reflecting pool that mirrors its facade. A tree frames the right side of the view, and a low stone wall and shrubs line the lawn. The caption places the hall among five women's residence buildings in Hamilton Quadrangle on Brandeis University's 250-acre campus in Waltham. Brandeis opened in 1948, and the plain mid-century dormitories were part of the young university's early effort to house women students. The pool and landscaped lawn give the building a formal campus setting.
