The card pictures the Apollo Room of Raleigh Tavern, furnished as a colonial-era gathering room with a long table, chairs, fireplace, and a keyboard instrument with sheet music in the foreground. Raleigh Tavern was a prominent Williamsburg inn and meeting place in the 18th century, and its Apollo Room was used for dances, society meetings, and other assemblies. The tavern was reconstructed during the 20th-century restoration of Colonial Williamsburg.
