About this postcard
The view shows the armory and auditorium in Brookings, South Dakota, a large concrete building with a tall flagpole, a lamp post, and small evergreens along its facade. A shield above the entrance reads "Armory," and a dark brick building stands at the right edge. Armories often doubled as public halls, and this one carried both functions in its name. In 1943 a soldier in Company A, 21st Military Police Company at Robins Field in Georgia sent the card to his mother in Pennsylvania, writing that a package had arrived and was "all gone already."
