A long steel truss bridge with three spans crosses the wide, calm Connecticut River between Ascutneyville, Vermont, and West Claremont, New Hampshire. The piers reflect in the water, and wooded banks and a low mountain ridge frame the scene under a pink-and-blue sunset sky. The bridge carried local traffic between the two states at Claremont, a Connecticut River mill town, in the early 20th century.
