About this postcard
A tinted view of a curving park drive at sunset, with a single early open automobile heading away along the road and broad lawns, shrubs and a tree line beyond; overhanging foliage frames the upper left. Cherokee Park, laid out in the 1890s by Frederick Law Olmsted on Beargrass Creek east of downtown Louisville, was one of the city's three great Olmsted parks and its scenic loop drives were designed for carriage and, later, motor touring. The printed caption names the scene simply as "Scene in Cherokee Park, Louisville. Ky."
