A field of white avalanche lilies fills the foreground of Paradise Valley, with a weathered snag and a sandy trail beyond, dark conifers at left, and the snow-streaked crags of the Tatoosh Range (printed as "Tatooosh" on the card) and Pinnacle Peak rising in the background. The meadow lies in Mount Rainier National Park on the mountain's south slope, where deep snowpack delays the wildflower season until midsummer. The park's subalpine meadows are known for displays of avalanche lilies, lupine, and paintbrush.
