About this postcard

Azalea Ravine Gardens in Palatka, Florida, fills a deep ravine with terraced beds, winding walks, and reflecting pools. A white suspension footbridge crosses the water, with pink and purple azaleas massed along the banks and palms and moss-draped trees rising above. The garden was developed in the 1930s as a New Deal relief project in a spring-fed ravine and became known for its azalea bloom. The printed caption calls it "a wonderland of marvelous beauty and gorgeous color" and advertises "300,000 assorted sub-tropical flowers, palms and azaleas" as well as "Florida's newest tourist attraction."
