About this postcard
A view looking down on the Daytona Beach band shell, a large open-air amphitheater with a tall arched proscenium flanked by towers and rows of wooden benches, set between the beach and the oceanfront street. Beyond it stretch the wide hard-packed sands of Daytona Beach, dotted with bathers, beach umbrellas and parked cars, with the Atlantic surf rolling in at right and a cluster of Mediterranean-style hotels and houses at left. The Daytona Beach Bandshell was built in the mid-1930s as a Works Progress Administration project and remains a landmark of the city's oceanfront. The printed number "7" appears in the upper right corner.
