The Banff Springs Hotel, a large chateau-style railway hotel, rises above a dense stand of evergreens, with the club house on the slope at right. In the foreground, a broad fairway of the Banff Springs Golf Course holds two small figures of golfers, backed by distant mountains. The hotel was a Canadian Pacific Railway resort in the Rocky Mountains, and its golf course was part of the resort's appeal to early twentieth-century tourists.
Sepia-toned print with a thin white margin; caption printed in white script across the lower edge. Light edge wear and faint staining at the borders.
No postmark. Divided-back real-photo card, 'MADE IN CANADA' imprint, photograph by Byron Harmon, Banff. Dealer pencil marks 'RMLJ' and '$8-' at top left. Light toning/foxing.
