Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, Quebec, circa 1915

About this postcard

An elevated view of the twin-towered white basilica at Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, seen across dense green foliage. A horse-drawn carriage sits on a shaded road in the left foreground, and the St. Lawrence River and a low green ridge lie behind the church, with a long convent building to its left. The shrine is one of Quebec's oldest Catholic pilgrimage sites, and the church shown was the predecessor of the present basilica, destroyed by fire in 1922.
