A large outdoor municipal swimming pool fills the foreground, crowded with bathers in the water while a dense throng of spectators in summer dress lines the pool deck. Behind them stands a long brick bathhouse with red tile roofs, open-air pavilions and flagpoles flying American flags, set against a sunset sky. Lincoln Park was one of Oklahoma City's early public parks, and its bathing pool was a popular summer recreation spot in the first half of the twentieth century.
