About this postcard
The view from Bayfront Park looks across lawns and flower beds toward a skyline of white hotel towers, with palms rising among the buildings and plantings. The hotels named are the McAllister, Columbus, Miami Colonial, Everglades, and Alcazar, all on Biscayne Boulevard facing the park and the bay. Bayfront Park was laid out on filled bayfront land in the 1920s and became a downtown Miami promenade. By 1940 the hotels along Biscayne Boulevard were part of the city's winter resort district, and the park's broad lawns and bedding displays gave visitors an open view of the bayfront skyline.
