The card looks across the water to Beacon Rock, the Newport summer estate of E. D. Morgan, set on a rocky, wooded rise above Ocean Drive. A white mansion with a red roof stands at the top, while a boathouse and dock extend into the harbor below and a path winds across the lawn. Beacon Rock was built for Morgan in the early 1890s, one of the Gilded Age estates that made Ocean Drive a showpiece of Newport's summer colony.
White border; linen texture visible.
No postmark; unused divided-back card with no handwriting. C.T. American Art blue-line imprint (AX-54793); white border on front, glossy/other texture. Minor edge wear and a small crease at lower center.
