About this postcard

A high vantage over the rolling lawns, curving drives, and small ponds of Eden Park, with scattered houses and a distant tree-covered ridge beyond; the card's own caption names it "Beautiful Scenery, Eden Park, Cincinnati, Ohio." Eden Park, laid out on the bluffs above the Ohio River east of downtown Cincinnati, was developed from the 1860s onward on land associated with Nicholas Longworth's old vineyard estate and became the city's best-known park, later home to the Cincinnati Art Museum and Krohn Conservatory. The view here shows the park's picturesque ponds and winding carriage roads typical of late nineteenth-century landscape design.
