A birthday greeting card built around an arched vignette of a cottage beside a stream with a small stone bridge, framed by a chain of four-leaf clovers and a pink-and-red stippled ground. The clovers are printed in green with gold embossed outlines, a common treatment in early twentieth-century greeting postcards, and the design is dated 1912 in the imprint. The scene in the arch is a generic rural view rather than an identifiable place.
Embossed gold accents on the shamrocks and border, much of the gilding rubbed; narrow white border; light corner and edge wear.
No postmark or handwriting. Divided-back embossed card printed in Germany, Serie No 7108; front design copyrighted 1912 by Heymann. Light edge/corner wear, small crease at lower left.
