A lone bicyclist rides along a curving dirt drive that winds between dense stands of trees on the government reservation at Hot Springs, Arkansas. The area, set aside by Congress in 1832 as the Hot Springs Reservation and later redesignated Hot Springs National Park in 1921, preserved the wooded hillsides and spring-fed valleys around the famous bathhouses; its scenic mountain drives were a popular attraction for visitors and local riders alike.
Black-and-white halftone print with a white border; faint pencil scribble in the upper right corner.
No postmark, stamp, address, or message — back is entirely blank stock. Undivided back with "THIS SIDE FOR THE ADDRESS." and a decorative "PLACE A ONECENT STAMP HERE." box, indicating the undivided-back era (c. 1901–1907). Halftone/matte surface; light soiling and slight edge wear.
