Bird's-eye view, Corpus Christi, Texas, 1947

Card type
Linen

About this postcard

The view looks down on a grid of flat-roofed commercial blocks and streets in downtown Corpus Christi, with the broad blue water of Corpus Christi Bay stretching across the horizon behind the town. By the late 1940s, Corpus Christi was a growing Gulf Coast port and trading center, and the scene shows a downtown of low storefronts and a few taller buildings set against the bay.
