About this postcard
A bird's-eye view looking down over the rooftops, lawns and trees of Tarrytown toward the broad Hudson River and the hills of the far shore, with a tall church spire rising at right. Tarrytown sits on the eastern bank of the Hudson in Westchester County, New York, a village long associated with Washington Irving, whose home Sunnyside lies just to the south near Sleepy Hollow. The card's vantage point, Fairview Avenue, was a residential street on the rising ground above the river.
