A bouquet of pansies and lily of the valley is arranged over a small rectangular panel of warm orange-brown, with the words "Birthday Greetings" printed in glittery black lettering across the lower left. Floral greeting cards of this kind were a staple of the early twentieth-century postcard boom, when inexpensive chromolithographed cards were exchanged for birthdays, holidays and everyday correspondence.
Undivided-back era card; lettering and flower outlines are raised with applied glitter; light edge and corner wear; faint pencil initials (appear to read "A.M.B.") at bottom center, not a message.
No postmark. Divided-back card with a multilingual "Post card" heading (German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Hungarian, Portuguese, Russian) and a "P.A.F. / SERIE 2834" imprint at lower left; no stamp-box marks. Card is toned, soiled and foxed, with worn corners.
