A pink poppy with a dark blue center and a gray-green bird in flight, accented with gold, fills this birthday greeting. The floral and bird pairing was a common motif in early twentieth-century greeting cards, when German printers supplied a large share of the American postcard market. A handwritten note sends a wish for many more happy birthdays from "sister Cancy," likely a form of Nancy.
