Bluffs on Lake Taneycomo, Missouri, circa 1940

Card type
Linen

About this postcard

A view from a rocky limestone bluff overlooking the blue water of Lake Taneycomo, with flat-topped rock ledges and scattered cedars in the foreground and wooded Ozark hills across the water. The lake, impounded on the White River behind Powersite Dam in 1913, was named for Taney County and became a resort area near Branson in the Missouri Ozarks. The card's own caption names the scene simply as "Lake Taneycomo and Bluffs."
