About this postcard
An elevated view looks down on a winding boulevard threading through rolling green hills and dark clumps of trees, with a small red-roofed building at the right. The scene is in St. Joseph, Missouri, and is associated with Krug Park, a long-established city park with landscaped drives. St. Joseph sits on bluffs above the Missouri River, and such park boulevards were promoted as scenic routes in the early twentieth century. The handwritten message is a wartime family update: the sender apologizes for a delayed reply and reports a grandson in the Air Corps who has just graduated from Radar School in Florida and does not yet know where he will be sent, possibly overseas.
