About this postcard
Interior of a bowling alley with several lanes, men bowling, and a crowd of spectators seated on tiered benches in the background. Columns support the room, and large windows on the left let in daylight. The printed caption identifies the lanes as the Riverside Club of the Waltham Watch Company in Waltham, Massachusetts. The Waltham Watch Company was a major watch manufacturer, and company recreation clubs were common in early twentieth-century industrial towns, giving workers a place for bowling and social gatherings.
