About this postcard

A black-and-white view of the steel truss Bridge of the Gods spanning the Columbia River at Cascade Locks, with forested hills rising behind and concrete piers in the water. The bridge opened in 1926, taking its name from a Native American legend of a natural bridge over the river. The Columbia River Highway, completed in the early 1920s, made the gorge a popular route for automobile tourists.
