Broad Street looking north, Atlanta, Georgia, circa 1907

About this postcard

A view north along Broad Street in Atlanta, Georgia, with tall early-20th-century commercial blocks lining both sides of the wide street, pedestrians crossing the roadway, and a horse-drawn or early motor vehicle in the distance. Overhead trolley and telegraph wires crisscross the sky above the shopfronts and awnings. Broad Street was then the heart of Atlanta's wholesale and business district, and the multi-story buildings shown reflect the city's rapid commercial rebuilding after the Civil War era.
