About this postcard
A view along Broad Street in Augusta, Georgia, with a yellow trolley car on tracks in the foreground, horse-drawn carriages and buggies in the roadway, and pedestrians crossing the wide street. Rows of multi-story brick and stone commercial blocks line the north side, including a building signed "Elliott Book Co." The tall obelisk at right is the Confederate Monument that has stood in the 700 block of Broad Street since its dedication in 1878. The tinted sky and German-printed color lithography are typical of early twentieth-century view cards.
