About this postcard

A three-story red brick building with a columned entrance portico stands on a grassy rise, its long side wing heavily covered in ivy, with a dirt road in the foreground. The caption names it the Bronson Library in Waterbury, Connecticut. The library took its name from Silas Bronson, a Waterbury-born merchant whose bequest funded the city's public library, and the building served as Waterbury's main library into the twentieth century. The card was copyrighted in 1905 by the local photographer and publisher Adolph A. Auer.
