Bruin Inn, North Cheyenne Cañon, Colorado Springs, Colorado, circa 1907

About this postcard

A rustic log inn with a broad red roof and a railed veranda stands among tall pines in North Cheyenne Cañon, with a horse-drawn carriage or wagon parked at the right and boulders and brush in the foreground. Bruin Inn was a roadhouse and resort stop on the canyon road in North Cheyenne Cañon Park, the mountainous city park southwest of Colorado Springs that became a popular excursion destination in the early automobile and carriage era. The card's caption spells the canyon name in the older style, "Canon."
