About this postcard

A black-and-white pen-and-ink style illustration of Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg, Virginia, with its tower, arched windows, and graveyard. Bare trees, a street lamp, and a wooden fence frame the foreground. Completed in 1715, the church is a noted example of colonial church architecture; its walls and windows are original, while much of the interior woodwork was removed in the nineteenth century and restored in stages, including a fuller restoration in 1938.
