About this postcard

A night view of Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park, its central jet rising high above a ring of smaller sprays, with the Chicago skyline silhouetted against a sunset sky behind it. The fountain, designed by Edward H. Bennett and modeled on the Latona Fountain at Versailles, was donated by Kate Sturges Buckingham in memory of her brother Clarence and dedicated in 1927. It is one of the largest fountains in the world, set at the center of a formal garden in Grant Park along Lake Michigan.
