About this postcard

A tall steel lattice lookout tower rises above a wooded ridge, with a small white building visible among the trees at its base; the card's own caption names it as Bunker Tower in Cheaha State Park, Alabama. Cheaha State Park, established in 1933, surrounds Cheaha Mountain, the highest point in Alabama, and the area's CCC-era stone observation tower (Bunker Tower, completed in 1934) became the park's best-known landmark. The negative number "D-166" is printed in the lower left corner.
