Black-and-white view of Burg Eltz, a medieval German castle of clustered towers and steep roofs, seen from its eastern side. The castle rises above dense trees on a wooded hillside, with a small gatehouse at lower left.

We motored down to this
palace yesterday - its the
most beautiful of all &
the only one that hasn't
some time or other been
destroyed + re-built - & its
been kept always in the
same family, part of it dates
from the 9th Century & its
full of queer old
things that the
'Eltz' family have
used - & all the
old family portraits
to great! Love from
us all -
Leel
