About this postcard
Caldwell Hall, the administration building at A. M. & N. College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, stands behind a broad green lawn and flowering shrubs. The brick building has white trim and striped awnings over its windows. It was named in honor of former senator Creed Caldwell. By the 1930s, A. M. & N. College was the state's public college for African American students and later became the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The view presents the hall as a formal campus landmark, with the lawn and plantings framing the entrance.
